Born Richard Starkey at 9 Madryn St., Liverpool 8 in The Dingle.
1946
Suffers a ruptured appendix and goes into 2 month coma at Liverpool's Royal Children's Hospital. Up to his teenage years, he suffers a series of painful abdominal troubles keeping him in hospital for long periods, the longest of which is a result of chronic pleurisy and complications over a liver infection.
