:: Thursday 1st February 1962 |
| On the night
of 1st February 1962 the Beatles fulfilled
their first booking by their new manager Brian
Epstein. Supported by Steve Day & the
Drifters, the gig took place in a dance instruction
hall above what was then the Thistle Cafe
on Banks Road in West Kirby on The Wirral,
about 10 miles from Liverpool. |
| For this night
only the hall was renamed 'The Beatles Club'.
On its' site now is the What's Cutting hair
salon, the owners of which, Mr & Mrs Roberts
are researching the Beatles performance at
this venue (click
here for a map showing the location). |
| If you attended
this momentous night or can provide any further
information, then the owners of What's Cutting
would like to hear from you. Please send your
e-mails to me at art@birtall.co.uk and I will forward them to Mr & Mrs Roberts.
Many thanks. |
